Welcome to our Website!!

The Silver State International Rodeo is celebrating it’s Silver Anniversary! 25 years of the top high school rodeo contestants in the nation. The rodeo  will be held in Fallon, NV (60 miles east of Reno) on July 5-9, 2010.

Beautiful 3-horse slant horse trailers, sponsored by the City of Fallon, will be awarded to the All-Around Cowboy and All-Around Cowgirl at this year's rodeo. Other awards include saddles to the all-arounds and first place in each event; buckles to the runners up to the all-arounds and to the 2nd-4th place overall in each event and 1st through 4th in all three go-arounds; plus hard luck and team awards.

The SSIR is open to contestants who finish 5th - 10th in their State or Provincial finals for the year. States and Provinces may drop to 15th place to fill a team. Contestants who qualify may pick up one extra event, provided they will not be competing in that event at the National High School Rodeo Finals.

Team Ropers whose partner cannot attend may pick up any partner of their choice provided that partner competed in team roping in the district, state, or provincial finals.

These trailers will be awarded to the All-Around Cowboy and Cowgirl.

Contestants will compete in all high school rodeo events, including the queen contest. There will be two full go-arounds and a Top 15 Finals on the last day. Jackpotting on the side is optional and scholarships will  be awarded to lucky senior contestants.

The rodeo has grown steadily since its inception and now attracts more than 500 contestants annually.

Additional activities include a trade show, concessions, 4th of July parade, family barbecue, teen dances, and a hilarious mud volleyball tournament.

Sponsors call the SSIR six days of rodeo that make rodeo history. Contestants call it good tough competition with great prizes. Spectators call it fast-paced, exciting action. All enjoy the event and the warm western hospitality the City of Fallon and the State of Nevada have to offer.
